Welcome to Working Shepherds, X and Purebred.

Since I am now retired from training KNPV dogs due to personal reasons I focus on the breeds used in this training, in the Netherlands, and worldwide. I try to educate and inform people of the dogs they own or are planning to own in the future because when it comes to the (X) Malinois and (X) Dutch Shepherds it is true when they say that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure…

Be warned, I will throw out the occasional rant when needed. Nothing annoys and irritates me more than seeing a good working dog end up in the wrong hands, or the shelter, for no other reason than that the owner felt they could handle this breed, or their Dutch Shepherd relatives without taking adequate measures to learn and educate themselves first on what they were getting themselves into… It’s nothing personal, it’s a way to shake off some frustration and maybe to educate some people on what will happen if they jump head over heels into this breed…

Posted are some pictures of our former X Malinois, Robbie II – KNPV lines, BRN 22769. He obtained his PH1 on October 1st, 2016 with a total of 369 pts. Not the highest amount of points out there but this says a lot about the quality and type of dog that he is. More a civil than a points dog he showed that to be true during his trial where he showed that he had a strong character and would not let himself be contained easily. Robbie II left for the USA October 24, 2016 to become part of a California Police Department. Like his brother, Robbie I and the dogs that came before them, he is missed every day….
